ALERT FOR BEL-AIR RESIDENTS: ALARMING INCIDENT AND ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN OF VEHICLES.
This past week, a couple of young boys playing hockey on the driveway at one of their homes near Calder Avenue and Field Street were approached by a Caucasian male (around 16 to 18 years old) on a bicycle in what is an alarming incident that happened in broad daylight at 4 pm.
The male approached the young boys and asked one of them to put his hands together, hold them out in front of him and bend over. He then proceeded to touch the lower half of the one boy’s back, and then asked both of the boys to lie on the ground. The boys refused to do so, and the male then offered them money to lie on the ground. The boys again refused, and the male then left on his bike. The boys originally thought the male could have been a friend of one of their older brothers, and were caught off guard.
The parents of the young boys have notified police. Police recommend that anybody who encounters a situation like that immediately scream out for help, call 911 and notify an adult.
The description of the male suspect is: 16-18 years old; slim build; just short of 6 feet tall; short, brown hair; no facial hair. He approached from Field Street, left towards Checkers Road.
Also, we’ve received a report from a resident in that same area who said he spoke to a couple of males who were trying to open car doors on the street and break in.
